Chiropractic Myth #2: “When I hear that cracking sound, is my bone cracking?”
That would be horrible!
Not to mention illegal.
The cracking or popping sound you hear is air leaving the joint.
It is just like when you pop your knuckles.
The popping sound is not necessary for the adjustment (movement of the joint) to be effective.
Some patients love the popping sound and some don’t.
There are many different methods to adjust/move your joint, and some involve no popping at all.
