21 Days to Weight Loss, a Sharper Brain and Increased Energy

How?  

Participate in a cleanse/detoxification program.

What is it?

A cleanse/detoxification program is a process or period of time during which a person attempts to rid the body of substances regarded as toxic or unhealthy.

What types of cleanses are there?

There are hundreds of different cleanses and detoxifications on the market, and they vary greatly.

Some involve eating only 1 food or liquid, or just certain foods or liquids.

Some involve taking supplements. Some last 1 day up to months in length.

Some state they cleanse only certain bodily organs, and some cleanse the whole body.  

Some assert you will lose weight or inches, or build muscle mass; and some focus on increasing energy and/or functioning of the whole body.

Why should I do a cleanse?

Increased exposure to toxins is linked to increased cancer rates, many other diseases, and overall decreased functioning of the body.

Our liver, kidneys and skin are the 3 main organs that neutralize toxins and eliminate them from our body.

It is estimated that every day we are exposed to over 80,000 toxic chemicals that started being introduced into our environment in the early 1960’s.

However, our bodies were never designed to handle all of these additional toxins.

So, our detoxification organs get overwhelmed and backlogged.

A cleanse supports them to operate more efficiently and eliminate the toxins more easily.

What type of cleanse should I do?

Since eating whole foods, (not synthetic or processed food substances) is what is best for our body, doing a cleanse with whole food shakes and supplements is also recommended.

There are 4 different cleanses that are offered by Standard Process, a professional supplement company, that started in 1929; that grows and supplies whole food supplements to health care professionals.

The first cleanse is called the 21 day Purification Program.

The other 3 cleanses are each 10 days long.

They are The Inflammation Cleanse, The Female Vitality Cleanse and the Blood Sugar Cleanse.  

What can I eat?

The eating plan consists of lots of vegetables, protein and healthy fats, in addition to supplements and 3 easy to make shakes a day.

It excludes processed foods, sugar, dairy and grains.

Do I have to feel hungry or fast?

Definitely not. In fact, some people have said it’s too much food for them to eat!  

How will I feel during the cleanse?

This will vary depending on what day of the cleanse you are on, what your state of health was before the cleanse, and if you are eliminating addictive foods, like sugar and caffeine (they can cause withdrawal symptoms).  

Some examples include feeling more tired or headachy.
