NOT Losing Weight? Here’s Why:

Reducing Calories Doesn't Work

You think that just reducing the calories you eat will cause you to lose weight….Nope, it doesn’t work that way.  

It may help to reduce calories, but actually your ability to lose weight has very little to do with the old adage: “calories in versus calories out“. That is why low calorie diets notoriously fail in the long run. You may temporarily lose some weight, but then you gain it right back after the diet is over.

Calorie counting is not that accurate.  Because of incorrect labeling, laboratory errors, and differences in food quality and preparation, calorie counts recorded on food labels and websites – even those within the USDA’s nutrient databases – can be off by as much as 25%.

Your ability to lose weight actually has much more to do with how your body is functioning than calories in vs. calories out, because our bodies may not absorb all of the calories we consume, and individuals absorb calories uniquely and variably.
